Dear Reynoldsburg City Schools Staff and Families,

We are counting down the days to welcome our students back to school! While we are not able to welcome them in person, we are still excited to start what is sure to be a very different and exciting year.

Today, we are sending you the Parent and Student Guide to Learning which was created to help you set your child up for success for online learning. This document is very detailed, please review it carefully. We also wanted to highlight several important points:

  • =         The first day of school will be Monday, August 24, 2020
  • =         Reynoldsburg City Schools will begin school 100 percent remotely.
  • =         Chromebook pickup and Meet the Teacher events are scheduled and have been shared on reyn.org, by buildings and on social media.
  • =         The deadline to enroll OR un-enroll in the RCS Virtual Academy is Friday, August 14, 2020. You may find the forms here: www.reyn.org/RCSVirtualAcademy.aspx

o    There, you will also find the RCS Virtual Academy Guide and parent webinars and videos translated in Spanish and Nepali.

=         The Parent and Student Guide to Learning includes:

o     Schedules by building. Buildings will also share their schedules and share on social media.

o    Parent and student expectations and guidance for online learning

o    Instructions for how to log in and complete online work

o    Student Services and Gifted Classes information

o    How to apply for free and reduced lunch and update lunch accounts and the schedule of grab and go items during the online portion of the school year

I spoke to 10TV earlier this week, and mentioned that for us to feel comfortable implementing our hybrid or all in models, we would like to see four to six weeks of decline in COVID19 cases in Franklin County. We are seeing a decline, and in a couple more weeks, we might meet that target goal. That is one factor that will go into our decision but the data we are seeing is offering some hope that we are trending in the right direction.

We know that there is a lot of information and it is changing at a rapid pace. Please take the time to read the communications we send, carefully, as many of the questions asked are answered in a communication we have sent out.

To get the most up-to-date information from Reynoldsburg City Schools, please visit reyn.org>>COVID19 UPDATES

Thank you for your cooperation as we prepare to welcome our students back for the 2020-21 academic school year.

Sincerely,
