Encore sophomore Morgan McCafferty placed 10th in the 100 meter backstroke at Ohio High School State Swim meet this weekend. McCafferty is the first Reynoldsburg swimmer to qualify twice for state competition and improved her place from last year when she finished 12th.Congratulations to Morgan and to all Raider swimmers on a great season!

Reynoldsburg's Homecoming football game is coming up Friday, Sept. 28. The Raiders take on Gahanna at 7:30 p.m.Students are planning a "Neon Nights" dance on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Livingston Avenue Campus field house. Tickets are $8 and go on sale during lunch periods Sept. 18.

2012 Fall Sports will begin official practices on Monday, Aug. 6 (with the exception of Football which begins official practice on July 30th). For summer schedules, please see the Head Coach of each individual sport.
The Lady Raiders track and field team is the Division I state champion - now four years in a row. Senior Destinee Gause set the all-time record among girls and boys for most gold medals (12) earned at the state meet during a high school career. The boys and girls teams set state records in three events.

High school students will follow a special exam schedule next week. Transportation will be provided as usual before and after school, as well as during the day to accommodate Summit students who have a 1st period class at Livingston and Livingston students who have a 7th period class at Summit.

EdWorks, a subsidiary of the KnowledgeWorks Foundation, has awarded $1,900 in prizes to 13 Reynoldsburg students in the Health Science & Human Services Academy and ENCORE Academy as part of an online gaming contest designed to extend student learning in the STEM fields.

The Reynoldsburg Health Science & Human Services Academy is hosting a career fair for students interested in medical and service careers to day at the RHS Livingston Campus.Med Flight is scheduled to land at the school at 12:55 p.m., to join professionals from the Truro Township Fire Department, Mount Carmel Health System and others. Students at HS2 will have the chance to learn about various careers in their fields of interest.

RCSD would like to remind students and parents that a staff professional development day originally scheduled for May 16 was canceled. There will be school in May 16.The calendar change was announced in December. The professional development day was rescheduled to the end of the school year and will not affect student schedules.

Congratulations to the four Reynoldsburg students who qualified to attend the International DECA Career Development Conference in Salt Lake City last week. Qualifiers included seniors Nene Ly, Assie Ly, and Khadija Kane. The trio presented and defended a business services research report. Junior Pope Lake, the current Ohio DECA Leadership Development state officer, was selected to attend as a voting delegate and to host the state delegation meetings.
