Return to ALL-IN, IN-PERSON Learning - March 15th!

Taylor Road Families!
Superintendent Dr. Melvin J. Brown has announced that students participating in the hybrid learning model will return to in-person learning FOUR days a week beginning Monday, March 15, 2021. Students that are currently hybrid will attend school in-person Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Wednesdays will remain remote for all students except those enrolled in Preschool or one of the district's Learning Centers. Those students will attend school five days per week.

A number of parents have requested that their students remain virtual. We’re happy to honor their wishes while still involving virtual students in classroom activities and collaboration with their classmates.

Part of the communication included sending an updated Parent and Student Guide to Learning. That document is attached and you can also find it on our website at reyn.org under "For Parents" and "For Students."
The Parent and Student Guide to Learning is designed to support and help both parents and students successfully navigate the 2020-21 school year. Whenever the guide is updated, we send out the new version and update the website.

While this document is quite detailed, we hope you find the protocols outlined useful in guiding you regardless of the model that is being followed. Appendix G, in particular, has been updated with new social distancing guidance from Franklin County Public Health.

Thank you for taking the time to review this guide. You may click on the link below, or on the "Return to ALL-IN, IN-PERSON Learning" tab near the top left of this page. We are looking forward to March 15th!

School Breakfasts and Lunch - FREE TO ALL STUDENTS 2020-2021 School Year

school lunch tray - ALL student meals are free at TRE 2020-2021 school year
Taylor Road Families -
In an effort to continually support all of our students, RCSD will continue to provide FREE breakfast and lunch to ALL students age 18 and under through the 2020-2021 school year. Here's what this means for our Taylor Road Tornadoes:
  • No need to send in lunch money or fund an online lunch account - all student MEALS are FREE!
    • Note: if a student purchases an "a la carte" item such as milk, s/he will be charged for that item. So, for that reason, students are strongly encouraged to choose an entire meal - because the meal (including the milk) is FREE.
  • Snacks will not be available at Taylor Road Elementary; only hot meals and alternative meals such as a Deli Sub, or Chef's Salad, or PB&J (<availability will vary) will be available.
  • Any child ages 1-18 may pick up free breakfast and (hot) lunch items at Livingston High School from 10am- 1pm Monday-Friday.
  • If our school building should close (i.e. for a calamity day), students can pick up free breakfast and (hot) lunch at TAYLOR ROAD ELEMENTARY from 10am - 1pm.
If you have any questions about Food Services, please check out the Food Services section of the RCSD site, or contact Ms. Hack at [email protected]

PBS Educational Programming - as of Monday, March 30th

Notification from RCS Supt. Melvin Brown

Tornado families,

Our staff at TRE misses our students terribly but, in order to help keep them safe and healthy we will be closed until at least May 1st. This is per Governor DeWine's latest orders issued today.

The work previously provided to students is enough to sustain them until April 9th. We will be working later this week with our team to develop plans on how to deliver further instruction during this extension.

We appreciate the grace and understanding you have given us thus far! We ask for your continued patience while we figure out the best way to serve students during this unique time. Give our kiddos hugs and know we will share with you as soon as we are ready. Stay safe and healthy TRE families!
