CAR RIDER ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL

Car riders
Tornado Families!
A few notes about arrival and dismissal…these procedures are not new however, due to a increased safety concerns they will be strictly enforced. We have many more students attending Taylor Road this year, and many more car riders!
We understand that the arrival and dismissal process seems lengthy and we understand the frustration that comes with the car rider area. It is a well-documented issue at pretty much every school across the country and mom blogs and television shows such as Modern Family have comically addressed it.
Our mission at TRE is to make sure that EVERY child under our care makes it home safely with the correct adult they are supposed to be with. This means that there may be times where parents need to wait a few minutes while we locate their child in the car rider waiting area to send them out.
Please DO NOT get out of your vehicle! It will not make the car rider process go any faster for you -  and in fact actually makes it slower. If you decide to park your car and walk up to wait please know that your child’s name will not be called until we have completed calling the names of the children whose parents have followed procedure and are in their vehicle in the car rider line. We also want to make sure that parents understand that you are not allowed to enter the waiting area and grab your children on your own. Once again, student safety and security is our utmost priority and we want to make sure ALL students go home with the correct adult.
Also, the front loop is for school buses and daycare buses/vans ONLY. Please do not pull up into that area during the restricted times which are posted on the signage.
We understand that no one likes to wait. We have put measures in place such as having more adults on duty in the car rider waiting area this year to help make the process go smoother. We will also have the Reynoldsburg Police Department and our Reynoldsburg Safety and Security team on hand to help enforce these processes.
Please be patient and understand that we are not here to make your life difficult; we truly have your child’s best interests and safety in mind. I promise we are doing the best we can.  Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation! It takes a village!
