The Board of Education performs all business at official meetings of the Board. Regular meetings are scheduled every month, although special and emergency meetings may be called as needed to consider specific topics. The public is welcomed at all meetings of the Board. Notification for all meetings is published and provided to the media at least 24 hours in advance, except for notification of emergency meetings which is provided immediately.
Executive Session
The Board is permitted to discuss certain topics in executive session, which is not open to the public. The board may not vote in executive session. Topics permitted to be discussed in executive session include personnel, the purchase or sale of property, specialized details of security, matters required to be kept confidential by federal or state law, negotiations with public employees, and pending or imminent court action.
Public Participation
The Board recognizes the value to school governance of public comment on educational issues. As such, the Board has set aside 30 minutes during each regular meeting for public concerns during which individuals may address the Board members. Members of the public wishing to address the board should contact the treasurer's office at 614-501-2259 before the scheduled meeting and request to be added to the agenda. Rules of Order
Except as otherwise provided by law, by regulation of the Ohio Department of Education or by the policies of the Board, all meetings of the Board are conducted in accordance with the latest edition of Robert's Rules of Order, Revised.
