Move to New School in Reynoldsburg Did Not Break Up Winning DI Team

A Reynoldsburg student’s Project Q team placed seventh in the world at the middle school level in the Destination Imagination Global Finals 2015.

Waggoner Road Junior High School eighth-grader Justin Huther and team members Parker Hamilton, Jared Herrel, Jacob Hibbard and Mason Koch – all eighth-graders from Teays Valley East Middle School – were among more than 8,000 students representing more than 17 countries last month at the competition in Knoxville, Tenn.

“It feels incredible to see your team’s name on the Jumbotron in the arena,” said team manager Liberty Huther, Justin’s mother.

Huther said her son has been on the team since kindergarten, so she wanted to keep it together when her family moved from Ashville to Reynoldsburg last year.

“They do offer Destination Imagination at Justin’s school, however, he would never want to leave his original team,” she said.

This is the third time Project Q has qualified for the Destination Imagination global finals. It also won regional and state championships in the past and this year placed third at the state championship.
