Raider Marching Band Fine-Tunes for Season

The Reynoldsburg Raider Marching Pride is working hard this week at an away band camp, putting the moves to the music from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. to learn a new competition show, "The Prestige."

Despite the long hours of camp at Pilgrim Hills in Brinkhaven, the 110 high school students were "still smiling" at 8 p.m. Monday, July 20, said Jason Gibson, the band's director.

"This is our second week of band camp and our most intensive week," he said. "But we are still going strong and still smiling."

Gibson said the competition show includes more than a little "magic" this year.

"Our theme is Illusion and we will have lots of magic throughout the show, with a lot of different tricks and things," he said. "Our music will be from the television show Dr. Who."
