 Reynoldsburg City Schools Distance Learning Summer Academy 2020
Summer Academy is being offered to students in grades 9-12 from June 3rd – July 1st, 2020. Teachers will facilitate two sessions of Content Courses scheduled from 8-11am and 12-3pm, Monday – Thursday. The Content Courses are available for those interested in CREDIT RECOVERY ONLY and will be offered as Credit Flex and a Pass/Fail grade. The exceptions are Physical Education (PE) and Health. Students may take PE and Health for new credit and will be issued a letter grade. PE and Health are open to current 8-12th grade students. Ohio State Test (OST) Prep sessions are also available and open to Reynoldsburg students only. Courses completed for credit recovery that earn a Pass/Fail, are not NCAA approved. Summer Academy courses are a modified online curriculum. Students are required to attend online, virtual sessions and actively work on their courses every day. Content area teachers will monitor student progress, offer online help sessions/office hours, and work with students daily. Missing more than one session MAY result in failure without a refund of tuition. Teachers will email weekly performance summaries to parents. Students may take TWO COURSES. PE and Health classes may be taken in addition to the two credit recovery courses. All courses are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment. If taking tested courses, students MUST participate in instructional sessions before they can retake the OST. OST dates subject to change based on decisions made by the Ohio Department of Education. Location Distance Learning- Due to COVID-19, this year’s summer academy will take place virtually. Cost $75.00 per Content area (Checks/Money Order made payable to: REYNOLDSBURG CITY SCHOOLS and include students name in the memo area). There is NO COST for the OST (AIR and OGT) Prep sessions. Courses The following courses will be offered for high school credit in Summer Academy. (*BOLD denotes courses offered for OST Prep – available for REYN students only) *ALL Courses are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment. English English 9, English 10, English 11, 12 Health Health Math Integrated I & II, III Physical Education Physical Education Science Biology, Physical Science, Environmental Science Social Studies American History, World History, American Government Exam Schedule • Midterms June 12th • Final Exams June 30th& July 1st • *Ohio State Tests July 13th – 24th *Pending state approval of summer testing & based on number of students.Class Supplies Students will need internet access and a computer.

No child will be denied care due to inability to pay for services. The services provided are not meant to replace your pediatrician or family doctor. When you have any medical need, your first call should always be to your pediatrician or family doctor who knows you best. ? Treat asthma ? Test for pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections ? PLEASE NOTE:   If your student is going to be tardy or absent from school, please call the school office at (614) 501-2300 to advise us of the tardy/absence.  When your student returns to school, please send them with either a doctor's note or a parent note so that the tardy/absence can be excused.  Ten (10) parent written notes to excuse absences are allowed per school year per our student Code of Conduct. You can also email a note to Mrs. Bosley at [email protected]  A tardy/absence is not considered excused unless a note is received.

NEW Immunization Requirements:

Per State of Ohio law (ORC 3313.671), students are required to receive 2 doses of the meningococcal vaccine (A, C, W, and Y) prior to their 12th grade school year.  Documentation of this immunization must be on file at the school prior to the start of the school year.  Please click on the link below for more information, as well as the verification form.
