How Reynoldsburg Has Prepared Me For Success

Pratima posing for a picture with the Rocky Raider mascot during a sports eventHi everyone! My name is Pratima Neopaney, and I am a senior at Reynoldsburg High School Livingston Campus! I am also the student representative for our District's Board of Education and work with our board and students to raise awareness on issues and make student voices heard. Beyond my role on the board, I am the president of our National Honor Society (NHS) chapter at our Livingston Campus and also the Student Council President. Through these leadership positions, I focus on fostering collaboration, engaging in meaningful community service, and working alongside my peers to positively impact our District and the city of Reynoldsburg.

I also participate in our Global Scholars Diploma program and our superintendent student advisory with Superintendent Dr. Reed. I have interned at our elementary schools to get an early start and better understand teaching and education. I have also launched my long planned and awaited passion project, Unity Speaks. I empower adult immigrants weekly by teaching them English and equipping them with the essential resources they need to navigate life in the U.S. with confidence. I have gathered over 300 service hours throughout my high school career, doing all the things I love.

After graduation, I plan on attending a four-year university and majoring in Education and Public Policy, then later getting my master's. Reynoldsburg has offered me immense opportunities to fast-track my process for this and earn the skills I need to succeed. Working with children both at the REYN Summer Arts Camp and through my community service internships has given me a valuable glimpse into my future. Being able to be the student representative and be in the superintendent advisory has allowed me to look at it from a different perspective, looking at policies and what changes we can implement to make our District better.

Ultimately, I plan on being a teacher for a few years, going abroad to teach in different countries, seeing the needs and working towards education for children all over the world. I want to work with policy makers to make the needed changes to improve our education system. I am so grateful for Reynoldsburg and all the immense opportunities that it gives to its students. I wouldn’t be here today without all the resources and support I have had the last four years!

Additional info: MLK Breakfast Scholar, Governor’s Scholarship, 4.4 GPA, & honor roll student. I am still undecided on a college. I have received great offers but have not committed to one yet.
