Meet Pratima Neopaney

The student voice is now represented on the Reynoldsburg City Schools Board of Education. Pratima Neopaney was approved at the Board meeting September 19, 2023, to become the first student representative.

“Being a student representative will widen the doors for further change to occur since the student perspective is being provided. I want our district to be the best it can be, and I believe being on the board will be a step toward that goal,” Pratima said.

Pratima is a junior at Reynoldsburg High School in the education pathway, is a leader on student council, and an honor roll student. She was born in Nepal and her family immigrated when she was three years old.

The Board approved a new policy this past June to allow for a non-voting student body representative. The student is recommended by the Superintendent and approved by the Board.

"We are excited to have Pratima join us on the board. We look forward to her insight from the student experience perspective this school year," Board President Angela Abram said.

Pratima hopes to attend Vanderbilt University after high school and major in secondary education or double major with education and psychology.

“Growing up, I’ve always wanted to go into education. Whether to become a teacher or a social worker, my passion has been to work in a school,” she said.

Pratima is asking students to email her or connect with her on social media with any questions or concerns they have. She has also created a Google form for students. https://tinyurl.com/3dz3vazu
