Reynoldsburg Education Foundation Awards Mini-Grants at Annual Gala

The Reynoldsburg Education Foundation (REF) hosted its second annual gala and auction last week in Old Reynoldsburg. Educators, staff and supporters of education across the District convened to fundraise for our Raiders, netting over $7,000 to help provide students with enriching educational opportunities.


Teachers with Mini Grants

During the gala, mini-grants of $250 were awarded to teachers to use in their classrooms. Due to the success of the gala, and recent fundraising events, the mini-grant amount will increase to $350 the upcoming year. Here is a list of this year’s winners and their submission titles.


Kristi Calkins: Taylor Road, A Day of Exploration in Quarry Park 

Aubrey Gibson: Taylor Road, Morning Tubs

Angela Forino: Herbert Mills, Interactive Weather Station 

Harry Gee: 9X, Mini-Library for ELL Students

Valerie Zielinski: RHS-Livingston, Lil’ Raiders Learn about Feelings from Big Raiders

Kellie Gedert: RHS-Livingston, Art & Advocacy – Printmaking

Peggy Flaherty: RHS-Summit, Laboratory Kaizen Event: Cardboard Challenge 

Meghan Patijarevich: RHS-Summit, Jazz Dance through the Decades


A special shout out to two teachers, Mr. Trevor Horn, Ag teacher at RHS’ Livingston Campus, and Mr. Dylan Daniels, Performing Arts teacher at RHS’ Summit campus, who catered and emceed the event, respectively.
