The Reynoldsburg Education Foundation (REF) hosted its second annual gala and auction last week in Old Reynoldsburg. Educators, staff and supporters of education across the District convened to fundraise for our Raiders, netting over $7,000 to help provide students with enriching educational opportunities.
During the gala, mini-grants of $250 were awarded to teachers to use in their classrooms. Due to the success of the gala, and recent fundraising events, the mini-grant amount will increase to $350 the upcoming year. Here is a list of this year’s winners and their submission titles.
Kristi Calkins: Taylor Road, A Day of Exploration in Quarry Park
Aubrey Gibson: Taylor Road, Morning Tubs
Angela Forino: Herbert Mills, Interactive Weather Station
Harry Gee: 9X, Mini-Library for ELL Students
Valerie Zielinski: RHS-Livingston, Lil’ Raiders Learn about Feelings from Big Raiders
Kellie Gedert: RHS-Livingston, Art & Advocacy – Printmaking
Peggy Flaherty: RHS-Summit, Laboratory Kaizen Event: Cardboard Challenge
Meghan Patijarevich: RHS-Summit, Jazz Dance through the Decades
A special shout out to two teachers, Mr. Trevor Horn, Ag teacher at RHS’ Livingston Campus, and Mr. Dylan Daniels, Performing Arts teacher at RHS’ Summit campus, who catered and emceed the event, respectively.
We are happy to see the passion of our educators and students being supported by our community. We look forward to everyone’s great work brought to life!
The REF is a public charity organization that raises independent funds to support the work of public education in the community, often working in partnership with the school district and the board of education.
