AIR TESTING:   If your student is currently taking Integrated Math 1, Integrated Math 2, Government, American History, Biology, English 9 or English 10 in a blocked format, then they will be taking the associated AIR test sometime in the last two weeks of December.  There has been a lot of talk in the news lately about possibly changing the graduation requirements, but please keep in mind that for our freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, the current requirements on these tests are as follows:

Students must earn a total of 18 points on the 7 tests.
Students must earn a total of at least 4 points from the two English exams.
Students must earn a total of at least 4 points from the two Math exams.
Students must earn a total of at least 6 points from the three Social Studies & Science exams.

This can get confusing, so if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Gengo, or Mr. Bennett.

In order to have enough time to get these tests in, we have to run a modified schedule from December 5-16.  Click on the link below to see the Schedules for these days.  The most important thing to know is that we will have a two hour delay from December 5-14.  Students that are testing on those days will be required to be at school at their normal time to test, all other students do not need to report until 9:25 a.m.  Keep in mind that buses will continue to run at their normal times.  If your student has to ride the bus on a day that they are not testing, they will be able to stay in the cafeteria and work quietly.  Band, choir and orchestra classes will also run at their normal time and students that take those classes in the morning will be able to wait in the cafeteria for their next class to start.

The following tests will be given on the following days:
     American History & Government—December 5th and 6th
     Biology—December 7th and 8th
     English 9 & English 10—December 9th and 12th
     Integrated Math 1 & Integrated Math 2—December 13th
             and 14th

Again, if you have questions on any of this information, please call the Academy office.
