Dear Taylor Road Elementary School Families and Students,
WELCOME BACK! I am thrilled to begin the upcoming school year with all of you. I hope each of you has had a relaxing and rejuvenating summer—it has flown by so quickly! The school year is just days away, and while I have met many of you, I haven’t had the chance to meet everyone. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, share my vision for the 2024-2025 school year, and provide a little information about myself.
I am from the central Ohio region and grew up in Newark, Ohio. I spent my entire educational journey as a student in Licking Valley Local Schools and have many fond memories of my elementary years. I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Specialized Studies in Child & Family Development. I then attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where I earned a Master’s in Elementary Education, and Western Governors University, where I completed a Master’s in Educational Leadership. I have taught every grade from K-5, though I spent the majority of my time teaching third grade. Becoming a principal was not something I initially planned, but I have loved every minute of it. I have fostered over 36 different children ranging from 3 months to 17 years of age. While fostering I worked mostly with teenagers as they transitioned from residential centers back into foster homes. I have 5 sons- Dashawn (23), Kody (22), Collin (14), Jaxson (12) and Emmett (7). I am a firm believer in family first!
This year will be one of growth and change as we continue to develop as a school community. I look forward to partnering with each of you as we strive to make Taylor Road Elementary a place where we are Empowering leaders who impact the NOW and innovate the FUTURE. Together, we will begin creating the next chapter in Taylor Road’s history. My primary goal is always to put students first, by building strong relationships. Mrs. Loudon (assistant principal) and I plan to be very present throughout the building and in classrooms. We want you to know that we are here to support our families and to encourage students to do their best.
I hope you enjoy the remaining days of summer. I look forward to meeting and working with each of you this school year. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions: [email protected]. In closing, please know that my door is always open to you. I welcome your conversation and input throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Mr. Nicholas Wright
Principal
