Taylor Road, Slate Ridge Singers to perform
The Taylor Road Singers will perform at this year's city hall Lighting Ceremony on December 1. Then, on December 16, the group will join its sister choir at Slate Ridge Elementary for their annual Holiday Concert.

The events are free and open to the public. The two choirs involve about 150 third- and fourth-graders who meet after school once a week. They are supported by music teacher Janet Benedict, as well as assistant director Aubrey Gibson at Taylor Road and accompanist Julie Cotner at Slate Ridge.
Slate Ridge honored as High Performing School of Honor
Slate Ridge Elementary has earned its fifth-consecutive School of Promise award from the Ohio Department of Education and its second High Performing School of Honor, based on student achievements last school year. Slate Ridge was one of just 35 schools in Ohio to earn both awards.

The awards recognize the long-term success of Slate Ridge in closing achievement gaps among all students. In a letter to Superintendent Tina Thomas-Manning, the state department of education highlighted the leadership and commitment of teachers, students and their families to achieve such success.
Slate Ridge, BELL, (HS)2 win ‘Promise’ honors
For the fourth consecutive year, Slate Ridge Elementary School has been named a School of Promise by the Ohio Department of Education. And for the first time, it has also been recognized as a High Performing School of Honor by ODE.

In addition, both of the high school academies at the Livingston campus, (HS)2 and BELL, have been named Schools of Promise for the first time.

Sue Martin is principal at Slate Ridge. Erica Dodson is BELL Academy principal, and Anne Baldwin leads the (HS)2 Academy.
