Reynoldsburg City Schools continually strives to ensure our buildings are welcoming to members of our community while maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students and staff. One of the ways we do this is by utilizing the Raptor Technologies visitor management system. Upon entering a District school building visitors must present a valid state-issued ID, such as a driver’s license, to be scanned into the Raptor system. Our schools use Raptor to issue visitors badges and maintain accountability of who is in the building. A visitor’s badge and ID are not necessary for those dropping off an item in the office or picking up paperwork. An ID will be required to sign a student out so staff can confirm the identity of the person taking custody of the child.
Furthermore, Ohio law and Reynoldsburg City Schools’ Board Policy requires that anyone who has unsupervised access to a child must first submit to a criminal records check. Based on these requirements, no one is permitted to enter beyond the office without a staff escort. Therefore, during morning arrival, no parent or guardian is permitted to walk their child to their classroom unless signed into the Raptor system and accompanied by a staff member.
We thank you for your understanding, compliance and continued support.
