Thurber Creative Writing Club Begins April 14
Join Thurber House for five weeks of creative writing after school! This club is all about equal opportunity, so whether you would prefer to write an ode to a PopTart, or a melodramatic story about star-crossed love, as long as you like to write, you'll fit right in!
Classes will be held in the Waggoner Library from 4-5pm each Tuesday from April 14 to May 12. Return the Permission Form to the office to register.
GSVAJourney, The Art of the Self Portrait Begins March 18
GSVAJourney, The Art of the Self Portrait is the first in a three-part foundational series designed for students to open their imagination and explore their own unique thoughts and ideas about themselves.  The series is centered on the theme of the self-portrait, which allows students to examine many different and unique dimensions of their identity, including who they are, what they believe and what they see in themselves.  The portrait mediums include, but aren’t limited to, 3D wire line studies, graphite sketches, acrylic paintings on canvas stretched by the students, and a symbolic representation of self through a plaster animal sculpture. The next Journey begins Wednesday, March 18 from 4 - 6pm for 10 weeks of classes and a gallery exhibition. Register online at GSVA or bring payment into the office.
